Overview

The Bol d’Or Mirabaud is the most important inland lake regatta in the world. Started in 1939, it welcomes mono-hulls and multihulls each year on Lake Geneva, starting in Geneva, Switzerland. More than 500 boats encounter each other on this 123 kilometer (66.5 nautical mile) course from Geneva to Le Bouveret et back.

    The Bol d'Or Mirabaud racecourse is straightforward: Geneva - Le Bouveret and back, with no coursemark. 

    The shortest distance is of 123 kilometres or 66,5 nautical miles. 

  • Start and safety limits

    The starting line is divided into two sections: the multihulls on the North line, divided into two areas and the monohulls on the South Line, divided into four areas.

    The starting line for multihulls (North) is divided into two, with the C1 catamarans on the Eastern section and the M1 and M2 multihulls on the Western section. 

    The starting line for monohulls (South) is divided into four sections: East, Central-East, Central-West, West, according to SI. 

    In 2016: East = SU, Central East = TCF4 and GS, Central-West = TCF1, TCF2 et TCF3 and West = TCFX and NJ.

  • Rounding the Bouveret

    The channel mark and the barge du Bouveret must be left to starboard.  

  • Arriving at the SNG

    The entry mark and the finish mark must be left to starboard.

Safety

With more than 500 boats on the starting line, safety is very important. Twenty surveillance boats are mobilized by the organizing club, as well as all regional rescue boats and the police.
