Register for the 2021 BOM

  • Dear Bol d'Or Mirabaud friends,

The organizing committee's goal is clear - to run the 2021 Bol d'Or Mirabaud! This is why registration is opening today. As it stands, sporting events are prohibited so it’s not yet possible to know what measures will be in effect in June... Events banned? Limited to a certain number of participants? This is a real brain teaser for the organizers! The organizing committee is putting everything in place on the assumption that the event will take place, to ensure there will be a maximum number of participants on the water if so. However, we’ll all have to remain flexible until the last minute in order to adapt to the health situation and measures in effect. The organizing committee is ready to modify, if necessary, the land based components of the event protect participants. We will keep you updated regularly as the situation evolves, based on available information. We thank you in advance for your understanding and collaboration.

    Register for the 2021 BOM

The start of Spring brings the opening of BOM registration! As in 2019, it will be completely online on the Manage 2 Sail platform here.

The Notice of Race is online. The following are the main changes:

The multihull extension mark at Versoix is removed, eliminating the prior extension zone. To compensate for this, multihulls will now round a new entrance mark at the Bouveret.
Participants are required to download the “MySuiviRegate” application (online soon).
All competitors must run the Météo Suisse application with notifications activated in order to receive key information from our partner, Météo Suisse.
For obvious public health reasons, boats with home ports other than the Société Nautique de Genève will not be allowed to tie up here before the event as in past years. Only participants from the eastern sector (“Haut-Lac”) will be accepted on the SNG docks.

The SNG Welcomes the BOM in Its New Setting

While plans for festivities will be clarified in the weeks leading up to the event, one thing is certain: 2021 competitors will discover the new Société Nautique de Genève. After many years of construction, beginning in 2017 and inaugurated last September, the SNG’s new look is ready to welcome the 82nd edition.
The esplanade and the sports building will welcome competitors to distribute race instructions and to launch visiting boats with its new crane, while the club entrance area will be dedicated to the festivities as in past years. The north jetty will be a magnificent vantage point from which spectators can watch the regatta’s start and finish!

Mirabaud Continues Its Loyal Support of the BOM

Event partner since 2005, Mirabaud will continue to accompany the lake festival this year, explains Nicolas Mirabaud, managing associate of Groupe Mirabaud. “Not being able to hold the race in 2020 for the first time in 82 years, the 2021 edition will have special significance. Returning to the “lake festival” and once again meeting with other Lake Geneva lovers will give us a much deserved breath of fresh air. I sincerely hope the Bol d’Or Mirabaud will be able to run under normal conditions and therefore symbolize the start of a summer of freedom.

We have to say that we’re doing everything possible internally to maintain this event and support the organizing committee. For us, offering Genevans smiles and happiness is a priority. The same goes for all the suppliers around us (caterers, event professionals, merchandizing, etc.) We’re anxious to see the light at the end of the tunnel and the BOM could be a big step in that direction.”

    Discover the BOM 21 Poster!

You’ve most likely already seen it on BOM social media. Here’s the 2021 edition poster!

It was created by Julie Dall’Agnolo of PIM Sportsguide, choosing a design based on optimism in the hope that 2021 will be a bright year for the BOM (and its competitors), but also in general, considering the present situation. “The forward perspective seen from a boat, with spinnakers flying while sailing ahead equates to positivism! Sunlight is present, almost blinding us with white luminosity like an overexposed photo. We’re in the midst of the race, along with other boats whose spinnakers flying.”

Join the BOM Crews and Experience the Event from Inside

More than 150 volunteers make the event work each year! They contribute to the Bol d’Or Mirabaud’s organization and positive atmosphere. That could include you! Do you want to experience the event from the heart of the action by taking on one of the various volunteer roles we propose?
By joining the BOM volunteer family, you’ll contribute to the 82nd edition’s success and share unique moments with a friendly and motivated team. Are you tempted by the adventure?
