BOM 2017 - The International Race

  • For its 79th edition, the Bol d’Or Mirabaud is changing the traditional Celebrity Race, which from now on will be the International Race

On Friday, June 16, a dozen international two- or three-member crews, divided among six boats, will race in this exhibition regatta aboard Diam 24od one-design trimarans. These have been adapted with special rigging for Lake Léman. Crews will compete in a stadium style racecourse in front of the Société Nautique de Genève (SNG). The race will be covered by Pierre-Antoine Preti, previously a reporter with RTS, along with Marie-Laure Viola, sports commentator for RTS. Note that the SNG and Les Voiles will be open to the public so that all may watch the regatta.

    Among race participants will be:

    • Alan Roura, event ambassador and Bol d’Or Mirabaud competitor.
Nicolas Mirabaud, Mirabaud executive committee member and Bol d’Or Mirabaud competitor.
    • Two crews from ICRC, our charity partner, who will also be Bol d’Or Mirabaud competitors.
    • Several international club crews: the France Yacht Club, the Cannes Yacht Club, the Gargnano Sailing Circle – famous organizer of the Centomiglia, the Hungarian Yachting Association – organizer of the Kekszalag regatta on Lake Balaton, the Trinité sur Mer Yacht Club, organizer of the Tour de Belle-Ile as well as the Havre Racing Club, organizer of the Normandy Cup
    • A Bol d’Or Mirabaud crew, made up of Lake Léman sailing lovers recruited on Facebook.

We look forward to seeing you during this magnificent race, and we extend our sincere thanks to the Diam 24 one-design association for its support!
